can I get any tips for the ride from NC to AZ route 10 or 40 best places to rest?sights eats? any info would be greatly appreciated!!!

Your going to be bored to death riding across texas. At least the road curves a little when you hit New Mexico but not much. For some excitement, when you hit Deming or Lordsburg head north to Silver city and then up to Luna and take 60 west into Arizona. You won't regret it. The white mountains in AZ are beautiful and going down into and then back out of the Salt river canyon will have you scraping your pipes and your primary.
Or you could just drone on down I-10 and be in Phoenix in a couple of hours. Roasting your butt off, LOL
